During his tenure with the Federal Government , Joseph specialized in Threat Analysis for government computer systems, including analyzing and reporting on the latest computer viruses as well as other threats to data. Bringing this knowledge and skill level to the field of information security, Joseph identifies the "at risk" areas and offers practical solutions to the challenge of information integrity and the dangers of the Internet.

Mr. Seanor has spent the past 6 years working for America Online as their SENIOR TECHNICAL SECURITY INVESTIGATOR.  In this capacity, Mr. Seanor was involved in investigating any type of computer crime committed by an America Online customer, or a computer crime committed against America Online.  During this time, Mr. Seanor worked with a number of both Federal and Local Law Enforcement agencies in order to catch these computer criminals, or track down missing children, or escaped felons.  Some of his duties included:

  • Tracking down hackers that break into the AOL Network

  • Preparing legal cases of hacker attacks

  • Coordinate with AOL attorneys for prosecution of hackers

  • Coordinate with Federal and Local Law Enforcement for the arrest of hackers

  • Track down and test security holes and programs designed to break into AOL

  • Develop and coordinate testing of security holes and new programs for AOL.
  • Monitor Anti-AOL sites for information about potential security holes

  • Monitor mailing lists, and USENET for information about potential security holes

  • Analyze computers that may have been compromised by hackers or bad employees

  • Check offices for electronic listening devices, and check conference rooms for bugs

  • Working with US Secret Service to track down individual who made anonymous threats to the President of the United States by email.

  • Train and Manage the AOL Countermeasures group.

Mr. Seanor is also the author of 7 books on the Internet and Investigations and writer for a number of magazines including PI Magazine.
